Dolby ® Digital
This digital surround sound format, which is now for some time, is probably the most commonly used today. Dolby Digital 5.1 channel transmits digital data of 6 channels (right, left, center, right surround, left surround and subwoofer).
DTS
Like Dolby Digital, DTS decodes the digital sound on 6 channels, but uses a lower compression ratio, ensuring sound quality slightly higher. Most home theater amplifiers support the prefectures of decoding Dolby Digital and DTS.
DTS-ES
This standard, which decodes the sound on 6 channels instead of five, is an enhanced version of DTS. This path corresponds to an additional audio channel discrete surround back, broad bandwidth, which can be transmitted by one or two additional speakers. At present, few are still encoded DVDs DTS-ES Digital ® 6.1Dolby

DSP modes
DSP modes: Some amplifiers have DSP (Digital Signal Processing), to create soundscapes (simulated acoustic environments), such as rock concert, theater, jazz, or sports. The type and number of DSP varies modèles.Arène

Input / Output
Connectors Rear Input: The input connectors and output placed on the rear panel of an amplifier for connecting different devices. The amplifiers are characterized by the quantity and type of inputs and outputs on the rear panel. Here are the definitions of the most common:
Composite (Video)
Connect composite video cable is composed of a single standard RCA-type information that transmits chrominance and brightness. This cable can be connected to a DVD player, VCR or camcorder. Although capable of reproducing images of high quality composite video connections are not considered as accurate as the S-video connections or component video.
RCA (2 Audio Channels)
The connections are RCA type audio and composed of left and right stereo channels. They are used with most audio devices equipped with analog outputs.
Digital coaxial
Digital coaxial cablesused to send digital signals to an amplifier, which achieves better results than the analog in terms of quality. For example, a digital coaxial cable can carry Dolby Digital and DTS issued by a DVD player. Digital coaxial cables are unique and use radio frequency modulated (RF). There are also optical digital connectors.
Digital Optical
This cable transmits digital signals to an amplifier, which achieves better results than the analog in terms of quality. This is the type most widely used digital connection. In an optical digital cable, data is transferred in the form of laser beam in an optical fiber (Toslink), fitted at both ends of a standard RCA jack. You can use a digital optical connection with a DVD or CD. The last type of digital connector is "component video".
Component video
This type of connection consists of three RCA jacks. One carries the brightness (luminance) video signal, and two color (chrominance). Since this type of connection between the chrominance between two cables, it provides video quality supérieure.2 Audio Digital (Coaxial)
